Arcadia’s motto is “A Community of Homes” and the city lives up to this with beautiful neighborhoods and plenty of green space. Originally a suburb of Pasadena, Arcadia has become known in its own right as a wonderful community to live and work, offering many opportunities and all the benefits of easy access to major metropolitan areas.
Real Estate: Arcadia has some of the priciest real estate in the San Gabriel Valley. An influx of buyers from around the world, especially China, has brought new development to the area. There is a lot of new construction in the area as well as traditional and older homes for sale. There are also many newer condos for sale.
Community Life: Arcadia has great community parks including Arcadia Park. The 626 Night Market brings food lovers from around the area for these popular summer night events. Westfield Santa Anita is a popular regional mall that attracts shoppers from miles around. There are also many great golf courses nearby.
Education: Arcadia is served by the well-regarded Arcadia Unified School District. The district consists of six elementary schools including Holly Avenue Elementary, Baldwin Stocker, Camino Grove, Longley Way, Highland Oaks, and Hugo Reid. There are three middle schools and one high school, Arcadia High. Local private schools include the Barnhart School and Arroyo Pacific Academy.
Transportation: Arcadia is easily reached by the 210, 10, and 605 freeways. The area is served by a variety of public transit options including Foothill Transit and MTA buses as well as the Metro Gold Line. Arcadia also operates Arcadia Transit which offers dial-a-ride service within the area.
Local Attractions: Arcadia is famous for the Santa Anita race track which brings thousands of visitors to the area each year to watch horse races or attend one of the many other events held there. The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanical Gardens attracts nature lovers from far and wide.
